Return to Del Paso Boulevard/ Old North Sacramento 2014 Del Paso Boulevard Saturday, October 20, 2 PM- 4 PM This walk is an expanded reprise of the May 2018 "Jane Jacobs Walk" on Del Paso Boulevard, with new stories and locales provided by filmmaker Phil D'Asario. The tour begins at Burly Beverages, 2014 Del Paso Boulevard,http://burlybeverages.com/ , during their quarterly "Burly BBQ." We will explore the history of North Sacramento, once an incorporated city, along its main street, formerly the route of Highway 40. The tour will end at the Del Paso Boulevard Fall Street Faire on Del Paso Boulevard: http://www.blvdfallfaire.com/ Planned highlights of the tour will include an exterior visit of a school site at 670 Dixieanne, North Sacramento's first school, designed by master architect Clarence Cuff, an inside look at the Grand Theatre, a Streamline Moderne movie theater that is planned to become a community events space, and other socially and architecturally significant sites along Del Paso Boulevard. This tour is free and open to the public.
